Bonjour, I’m Bekah, the teacher, cheerleader, and gentle guide behind French Coffee Bean.

I have always believed that learning a language should feel a little like settling into your favourite café: warm, comforting, and full of small moments of joy.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching French and Spanish to teenagers and adults, each with their own story, their own pace, and their own reasons for wanting to grow. And I have learned that what people need most is not perfection but it is encouragement, clarity, and a space where they feel safe to try.

Teaching languages is not just my profession; it is something I love deeply.

I love seeing a student’s confidence shift, hearing the pride in an adult learner’s voice when they manage a sentence they didn’t think they could say, and watching anxious exam students slowly realise, “Actually… I can do this.”

That spark, that shift, is why I do what I do.

About me

How I tutor adults & teens in French and Spanish:
My Teaching Philosophy

My approach is simple:

• Structure, so you know where you’re going
• Warmth, so you never feel judged
• Flexibility, so we adapt to your needs
• Encouragement, because progress grows in a supportive space

French Coffee Bean was built on the idea that learning a language is not just academic, it’s emotional. It’s about feeling capable, heard, and celebrated. Whether you join me with excitement, nerves, or a bit of both, you’ll find a calm, steady space to grow at your own pace.

You don’t need to arrive confident: You just need to arrive.

We’ll build the rest ensemble/ juntos.

French or Spanish Tutoring Teens for the GCSE & A-LEVEL

Teenagers often come to me carrying worry about grades, speaking exams, grammar, or just the feeling of “I’m not good at languages.”

But here’s the truth:

It's never about talent. It's always about guidance, practice, and belief.

Together, we break big goals into gentle steps. We practise speaking in a calm, no‍judgement space. We build clear exam strategies. And slowly, the fear fades, and is replaced by confidence, skill, and pride.

Seeing students go into their exams with their shoulders lower, their breath steadier, and their confidence higher will always be one of my favourite things.

Tutoring adult learners: Languages for real life

I also teach adults: absolute beginners, returning learners, travellers, professionals, and those who simply love French and want to reconnect with it.

Adult learners often bring self‍doubt:
“I’m too rusty.”
“I don’t have time.”
“I’ll never remember anything.”

But you would be amazed at what happens when you are given the right support.

In our lessons, you get space to speak, stumble, laugh, try again, and grow. We focus on real‍life communication, gentle progress, and building confidence step by step. Whether your goal is ordering at a café in Paris or finally feeling comfortable having a conversation, I’ll help you get there, calmly and kindly.

Every small win counts. And we celebrate them all.
